site.bta20th "In the Palace" International Short Film Fest Launches in Pernik

The 20th edition of the "In the Palace" International Short Film Festival was launched in the western city of Pernik, Pernik Municipality said Sunday. Over the next seven days, over 250 films will be screened in the Palace of Culture, presenting the various categories of documentaries, experimental films, student films, animation and fiction, among others.

Admission to the daily indoor short film screenings and the evening shows on the screen in front of the building of the Palace of Culture are free.

Accompanying events include a Cool Den concert from 20:30 pm on Monday and many other surprises over the week, the organizers said.

Since 2017, IN THE PALACE has been an Academy Awards/Oscar qualifying festival in the categories of Best Animation, Best Fiction and Best National Film; a Student Academy Awards qualifying festival and also a Goya Awards qualifying festival. IN THE PALACE is a member of the international network of festivals and institutions serving the short film sector – the Short Film Conference.

The fest is organized by the IN THE PALACE International Short Film festival Foundation and the Culture Pernik Foundation, with the support of the National Film Centre, the national Culture Fund and the MEDIA sub-programme of the Creative Europe programme of the European Commission.
