The 15th edition of the specialized exhibition for agriculture BATA AGRO (Bulgarian Association of Traders of Agromachinery) was unveiled on Monday in Stara Zagora. The five-day exposition will have 209 companies present the latest in agricultural technology and innovations on nearly 36,000 sq. m.

The participants include some of the world's largest agricultural machinery brands, seed, fertilizer and crop protection dealers, a wide range of agricultural product and service companies, financial institutions, consulting companies, automotive companies.

The forum was opened by the caretaker Deputy Minister of Agriculture Todor Dzhikov, who said: "It is no secret that one month before the harvest starts in Bulgaria, there are more than 1.5 million tonnes available over and above what is normally in warehouses at this time of the year". He added that the environmental restrictions imposed by Brussels over the last few years on certain active ingredients in plant protection products have increased the cost of production for Bulgarian farmers.

BATA AGRO Chair of the Board Daniel Minev said that the forum has turned into a professional business platform, where farmers and business representatives can exchange experiences and ideas.
