No Rift in
Reformist Bloc,
MP Says

Montana, Northwestern Bulgaria, November 17 (BTA) - There is no
rift in the Reformist Bloc (RB), said here on Monday RB MP
Borislav Velikov from the Bulgarian New Democracy party, which
is part of the Right-wing Bloc.

"We realize the important tasks standing before us," he said,
admitting that a little tension emerged between the parties in
the Bloc over the lack of clear criteria for nominating people
for public office. Some of the RB MPs have interpreted this as a
possibility for deals behind the parliamentary group's back. "I
personally believe that all questions must be discussed in the
parliamentary group, that a common position must be reached,
which could then be used for negotiating with the coalition's
larger partner - GERB," Velikov said.

The speculations about a rift in the RB came after Dimiter
Delchev from the Bulgaria for the Citizens Movement told bTV on
Monday that the RB is plagued by mistrust after a gentlemen's
agreement was broken. While in the studio, Delchev even refused
to sit next to Grozdan Karadzhov of the Democrats for Strong
Bulgaria (DSB), which is also part of the RB.

Delchev said that the RB parties have agreed to support Nayden
Zelenogorski nomination for co-chairman, after Meglena Kuneva
became Deputy Prime Minister. According to him, DSB did not keep
their word and did not give a well founded argument and
Zelenogorski did not collect the necessary two-thirds of votes.
