Kids Expo Sofia 2026 will take place from May 29 to June 1 on the square around Sofia's St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Sofia Municipality said on its website.

The event, which is included in the Municipality’s cultural calendar and has free admission, will feature educational activities, sports demonstrations, and interactive programmes for children and families, with participation from institutions including the Bulgarian Red Cross, the National Revenue Agency and emergency services agencies.

The expo is held for a second consecutive year and is part of a European format with more than 40 years of history, organised in countries including Spain, Germany and Italy, the municipality adds.

This year’s edition is set to include more participants, activities and demonstrations, with exhibitors also coming from Romania and the Republic of North Macedonia.

Over the four-day programme, organisers say there will be educational initiatives, cultural events, sports activities and hands-on demonstrations designed for children and families.

In the sports zone, children will be able to try disciplines such as football, volleyball, gymnastics, taekwondo, boxing and climbing, with meetings planned with Bulgarian athletes. The Bulgarian Volleyball Federation and the Bulgarian Automobile Sports Federation will also take part, with the latter presenting a racing car.

The cultural and educational programme will include schools, clubs, children’s organisations and social initiatives, while a dedicated entertainment zone will host a daily stage with music, dance and creative workshops.

The Bulgarian National Television will have a dedicated audio-visual space for children and is the main media partner of the event.

The first edition of Kids Expo took place in late May 2025, offering educational and entertainment activities and displays of military equipment and specialised machinery, alongside informational stands for children and parents near St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.
