The division of the Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) parliamentary group would be a serious political mistake that creates risks for Bulgaria's development, Atanas Atanassov, chair of Democrats for a Strong Bulgaria (DSB), part of Democratic Bulgaria, said after a meeting with Continue the Change.

"I argued this evening before the joint forum that splitting the parliamentary group is a serious political mistake which creates risks for Bulgaria’s development," Atanassov said.

At the meeting, Continue the Change proposed that two separate parliamentary groups register in the 52nd National Assembly, while remaining in a common parliamentary alliance "For a Strong Bulgaria in a Strong Europe" and continuing to pursue joint policies.

"Together with Yes, Bulgaria, we were in favour of preserving unity," Atanassov stressed.

"I want to address our voters - we made every effort to preserve the unity of the group," said Yes, Bulgaria co-leader Bozhidar Bozhanov.

"We continue to be a guarantor of the country’s modernization and of its European path," he added.
