Ivelin Mihaylov, leader of the Velichie party, which has the smallest of nine groups in Parliament, said: "Let's return the State to the Bulgarian people." He cast his ballot in the village of Neofit Rilski near Varna (on the Black Sea), Bulgarian National Television reported.

"I am heading to Kardzhali [Southern Bulgaria], I will help as much as I can to give courage to people who are in a feudal dependency, if we can stop vote buyers," he said, adding that his party targeted vote buying on Saturday as well.

According to Mihaylov, a large company in Blagoevgrad Region which gets significant public contracts had attacked the party's team which tried to stop efforts to influence the vote.

Mihaylov voted using a paper ballot. "I studied industrial electronics in secondary school, I know that, in principle, any machine can be controlled. Whether that is the case or not, in this voting section paper ballots cannot be manipulated, so I voted safely," he added.
