At an extraordinary meeting on Thursday, the Plenum of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) decided that rules should be drafted and adopted regarding the procedure for the early dismissal of Yordan Stoev, a member of the SJC Prosecutors Chamber appointed through the parliamentary quota. The request was submitted by 48 MPs and was officially filed with the SJC at the end of March. The procedure is being activated for the first time.
The decision was adopted with 13 votes in favour and two against.
The rules will be drafted by the SJC Legal Affairs Commission and will be discussed and voted on by the Plenum on April 23. The rules will cover the course of the procedure, notification of the parties, admissibility, consideration of the merits, and the right of defence, SJC Representing Member Boyan Magdalinchev told the media.
