site.btaRegional Cultural Institute for Arts and Crafts to Be Established in Oreshak
The Council of Ministers adopted a decree establishing a Centre for Arts and Crafts - Oreshak Regional Cultural Institute, the Government Information Service reported Wednesday. The new institute, based in the north-central village of Oreshak, Troyan Municipality, will be a specialized centre for the creation, presentation, and promotion of cultural products in the field of intangible cultural heritage, arts and crafts.
The institute will develop an educational, research, and creative activity, maintain workshops, collections, and a residency programme for artisans, and organize regional, national, and international events (festivals, fairs, exhibitions, and demonstrations).
The territorial scope of the new cultural institute includes the municipalities of Troyan, Apriltsi, Letnitsa, Lovech, Lukovit, Teteven, Ugarchin, and Yablanitsa.
The decree is based on the Protection and Development of Culture Act. Within two months, the Troyan Municipal Council must adopt rules for the structure and activities of the institute, and the mayor of the municipality is responsible for their implementation.
