site.btaBulgaria's General Government Spending Continues to Outpace Revenues In Q3 2025

The trend of General Government expenditure in Bulgaria to exceed revenues continued in the third quarter of 2025, according to data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI).

In the third quarter of 2025, the General Government sector reported revenues of EUR 11,398.65 million and expenditures of EUR 12,165.59 million, the National Statistical Institute said on Wednesday.

In the second quarter of 2025, revenues totalled EUR 11,543. 44 million and expenditures stood at EUR 11,977.35 million. At the beginning of the year, the respective figures were EUR 8,926.49 million and EUR 9,845.39 million.

The General Government data are compiled using reports on the execution of the Consolidated Fiscal Programme provided by the Finance Ministry, as well as estimates for state-owned enterprises reclassified as part of the sector, the NSI said.
