The government will provide an additional EUR 1,550 in aid to families affected by natural disasters in 2026. This support is intended for people whose properties were damaged by hurricane-force winds during the first days of the new year.

For the payment of these funds, EUR 200,000 have been allocated under the budget of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. The aid will complement the one-time assistance for addressing emergency needs, which is provided under the Social Assistance Act and amounts to up to EUR 1,172.

Previously, the cabinet supported households whose properties were affected by fires and floods in 2025, following a proposal by Minister Borislav Gutsanov.
