World Bank Revises Up Bulgaria’s Economic Growth Forecast for 2025–2027

The World Bank revised upward its forecast for Bulgaria’s economic growth in 2025, 2026 and 2027 on Tuesday. The assessment is part of the international financial institution’s regular biannual analysis, Global Economic Prospects, published on its website.

In the current edition, the World Bank projects Bulgaria’s gross domestic product (GDP) to grow by 3% in 2025. Compared with the June 2025 edition, the forecast has been revised upwards by 1 percentage point.

For 2026, the Bulgarian economy is expected to grow by 2.9%, compared with 2.2% projected in June, an upward revision of 0.7 percentage points.

For 2027, the World Bank forecasts economic growth of 3.1%, also higher than the 2.4% projected in June last year, again an increase of 0.7 percentage points.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) announced that it expects real GDP growth in Bulgaria to reach 3.2% in 2025, before easing slightly to 3.1% in 2026 and 2027. In its June 2025 forecast, the central bank projected real GDP growth of 2.9% in 2025 and 2.7% in 2026 and 2027.
