Due to ongoing roadblocks by protesting Greek farmers, border traffic between Bulgaria and Greece could be disrupted on Friday, the Bulgarian Border Police said on Friday morning.

As of Thursday noon, heavy duty trucks are not allowed through the Kulata - Promachonas border crossing in both directions for a period of 48 hours.

According to information from the Greek border authorities, the Kapitan Petko Voyvoda - Ormenion border crossing has also been closed to traffic in both directions for all types of motor vehicles since 8:30 a.m. on Thursday.

The Ilinden-Exochi border crossing has also been closed to traffic in both directions for freight vehicles and passenger cars since 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.

At this time, no information has been received by the Smolyan Regional Border Police Directorate about the closure of other border crossing.

The blockades by Greek farmers have been staged for nearly a month and a half, on and off, over delayed subsidy payment.
