site.btaBulgaria Will Enter Eurozone Even if Cabinet Resigns - CC Leader Assen Vassilev

Last year [GERB leader] Boyko Borissov claimed that without a regular government Bulgaria would not enter the Schengen area on land. We entered. And we will enter the Eurozone as well, even if the government has resigned, said the leader of Continue the Change (CC), Assen Vassilev, in front of journalists in Parliament here on Wednesday. “As the saying goes: ‘The sun will rise even if the rooster doesn't crow,’ so this government should just resign,” the MP added. His comment referred to a statement by GERB leader Boyko Borissov, who said that the government would remain consolidated until 1 January 2026.

“Nobody in Bulgaria wants them,” Vassilev commented. He added that the rallies held the previous day were “a very pathetic imitation of protests,” referring to the several rallies around the country, organized by MRF - New Beginning under the motto “NO to hatred!” on Tuesday. 

Vassilev also said that There Is Such a People still “fail to notice Peevski” in power, even though the leader of MRF - New Beginning is “the only one organizing protests in defense of the government.” According to Vassilev, there were attempts to divide people based on ethnicity, but this did not materialize. The real division in the country, he said, is between those who steal from the people and the citizens who say they do not want to be stolen from.

Vassilev stated that the new version of next year’s budget is again not good. “There is also a new outrage = the funds for nurses are not included in this budget,” he said.

Earlier in the day, the issue of pay for medical professionals caused disputes between ministers and PP–DB MPs in the plenary hall.
