GERB leader Boyko Borissov met with United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to Bulgaria Abdulrahman Ahmed Sultan Essa Aljaber, Borissov said on his official Facebook page on Tuesday. During the meeting, a number of areas were identified in which the potential for partnership between the two countries is yet to be developed - educational and academic exchange programs, joint initiatives in the field of science and innovation, support for start-ups, cultural and sports projects, as well as activities related to sustainable development and green technologies. Borissov is the Floor Leader of the largest parliamentary group in Bulgarian Parliament, GERB-UDF.

"We are convinced that by strengthening exchanges between young people, universities, and businesses, new bridges will be built between our societies, which will build on economic and political ties," he added.

Relations between Bulgaria and the UAE continue to develop dynamically, driven by mutual respect, trust, and a desire to build long-term partnerships, Borissov wrote. He added that in recent years there has been significant activity in a number of key areas such as business and trade, economic and investment projects, infrastructure development, cooperation in the field of energy, as well as in the tourism sector, which has enormous potential for both countries.

There are excellent conditions for attracting new investments, expanding markets, and creating sustainable economic ties that can contribute significantly to the modernization and growth of both economies, Borissov said. The partnership between Bulgaria and the UAE opens up even broader horizons, the GERB leader added.
