Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev received here on Thursday the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Indonesia to Bulgaria, Listiana Operananta, the Foreign Ministry reported. The diplomats outlined the importance of the long-standing and stable bilateral relations and emphasized their readiness for their further development in a wide range of areas.

Georgiev and Operananta shared their mutual readiness to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2026 in a fitting manner. The agenda also included the expansion of bilateral ties both in traditional areas such as trade, economy, culture, and education, and in new areas such as scientific exchange and energy.

The importance of cooperation between Bulgaria and Indonesia in multilateral formats such as the UN, the Strategic Partnership between the EU and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
