The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) and State Opera Burgas have concluded a partnership agreement.
The document was signed at the BTA Press Club in Burgas on Friday by BTA Director General Kiril Valchev and State Opera Burgas Manager Alexander Tekeliev.
"State Opera Burgas is an important partner because opera art has a long-standing tradition in Burgas," Valchev said.
"BTA is an institution and, without doubt, it is a privilege for us. Against the background of everything else that is covered and presents greater interest than genuine art, BTA is indeed the authority that backs us and covers our activities," the State Opera Burgas Manager pointed out.
Valchev saw the fact that Burgas Regional Governor Maria Neykova was present at the signing as an indication that the Bulgarian State attaches special importance to opera art.
The BTA Director General noted further that the Agency is looking for various and steady partnerships. He recalled that a special issue of the LIK magazine last year was devoted to the Burgas and the Sea National Pop Song Contest - the most prestigious and practically Bulgaria's only surviving music competition of this kind, held since 1973.
Valchev will represent BTA on the jury of the contest's 40th edition, which will take place on July 29.
