This will be the final concert in a series of performances by Lukov in Ukraine and Moldova, organized to mark the Day of the Bessarabian Bulgarians and National Awakeners' Day. The series is being held in partnership between the Bulgarian News Agency and Lukov under an agreement signed earlier this year.
On Friday, Lukov performed in the village of Vasylivka in the Bolhrad region, alongside folk ensembles from the Vasylivka municipality.
Odesa Region is home to the third largest community of expatriate Bulgarians, numbering more than 150,000 people, according to an official population census in Ukraine in 2001. Between 50,000 and 60,000 Bulgarians live in the regional capital, Odesa. Bulgarians in the region are concentrated in the districts of Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
