The team of the Seven Apostles of Bulgaria Sunday School in Reus, Spain, has nominated its founder Iliana Ilieva – Dabova for the Saint Zlata of Meglen Award, the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad (EABA) said here on Friday.

“Iliana Ilieva – Dabova is nominated for her exceptional contribution to Bulgarian culture and education in Catalonia. Her 16 years of dedication to the Bulgarian cause outside the homeland are a true example of inspiration and national pride,” the EABA emphasized.

In addition to being the founder of the first Bulgarian Sunday School in the Spanish province of Tarragona, Ilieva is also the head of the Zdravets Dance Group, as well as the organizer of a number of cultural events, festivals and children’s competitions in Spain.

"This nomination is a great honor for me and recognition that with my work I help Bulgarians abroad according to my strengths and skills", Dabova stated.

In October, the EABA will present its annual Bulgarian Woman of the Year – Saint Zlata of Meglen Award. Twenty nominations have been received from 11 countries. BTA will present the nominees in a series of articles.
