Bulgarian children from Moldova visited the Bulgarian Parliament and met with its Chair, Nataliya Kiselova, said the Bulgarian Community in the Republic of Moldova (BCRM). BCRM Chair Georgi Barbarov said the visit was arranged as part of an additional agreement during the children's visit to Bulgaria from September 7 to 13.
"We were able to provide a special experience for our children, the Bulgarian children from Moldova. Kiselova willingly agreed to tell the guests about the work of Parliament and its role in public life," Barbarov said.
"I hope that your visit to Bulgaria will encourage you to learn more about the country, its culture, and history," said the National Assembly Chair, as quoted by Parliament’s press centre. Kiselova expressed her satisfaction that the children are learning Bulgarian and congratulated them on preserving the Bulgarian spirit and traditions. She shared some cool facts about the history of Bulgarian parliamentarianism with the guests.
A hundred kids of Bulgarian descent, along with their leaders, arrived in Bulgaria earlier this week. The visit included trips to Pleven and Panagyurishte, where students from Taraclia, Tvrditsa, Valya-Pejey, Korten, Parkani, and Stoyanovka learned about the history of the central regions of the country, their liberation from Ottoman rule, as well as Bulgarian culture and traditions. In addition to language practice, the program included concerts and sports competitions in volleyball and chess.
