The Velichie parliamentary group will back the no-confidence motion over justice, Floor Leader Ivelin Mihaylov told journalists in Parliament on Friday. "Every no-confidence vote is welcome against the actions of this criminal government, which right now, as you can see, is schizophrenic," he said.

Mihaylov argued that the judicial system is not functioning. "This is killing the economy, the functioning of the state, and the sense among Bulgarian citizens that they live in a rule-of-law country and are protected," he commented.

"Two ministries of the same government are lying to the people," he stressed. "One of them, the Energy Ministry, says it wants a zero carbon footprint, but at the same time there are 60,000 illegal dumps and we are the methane Chernobyl of Europe," the MP added.

With 10 MPs, Velichie is the smallest of nine groups in the 240-seat Parliament.

Earlier in the day, Atanas Atanasov MP of Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria said the necessary signatures to submit the motion of no confidence had been collected.
