The German-Bulgarian Society in Darmstadt, with the support of the Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in the German state of Hesse, Dr. Ingo-Endrick Lankau, has nominated Nadezhda Ivanova-Buese for the Bulgarian Woman of the Year - Saint Zlata of Meglen Award, presented annually by the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad (EABA).

Ivanova-Bueze is the head of the cultural society in Darmstadt, where she has long been engaged in organizing scientific conferences, classical music concerts, commemorative events, and numerous charity initiatives in support of children’s homes and care facilities for the elderly in Bulgaria.

“For more than 30 years, Nadezhda Ivanova-Buese has been a tireless advocate for Bulgarian culture, education, and philanthropy in Germany. With dedication, diplomacy, and deep patriotism, she promotes a positive image of Bulgaria not only in Germany but across Europe,” the EABA said.

In October, the EABA will present its annual Bulgarian Woman of the Year – Saint Zlata of Meglen Award. Twenty nominations have been received from 11 countries. BTA will present the nominees in a series of articles.
