Bulgaria won the 37th International Folk Dance Competition Golden Karagoz, which was held with the participation of hundreds of dancers from 16 different countries, the National Folklore Ensemble "Philip Koutev" announced on Tuesday. The 37th Golden Karagoz International Folk Dance Competition was organized by the Bursa Culture, Arts and Tourism Foundation (BCATF) on behalf of the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and with the sponsorship of Referans Holding, Pakkens, Neskar and Ahu Alnipak.

Taking the stage one by one, the teams presented their most beautiful choreographies and costumes, unique to their cultures, to the jury and the audience. Bulgaria was crowned the winner of the competition where all the countries performed five-minute dances in front of the jury.

Kazakhstan won the TURKSOY special prize, while Spain received the BKSTV special prize. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the third winner of the Golden Karagoz International Folk Dance Competition, won the bronze Karagoz while Russia, the second winner, grabbed the silver Karagoz.

Bulgaria won the Golden Karagoz after the jury's vote.
