site.btaHorn Player Viktor Teodosiev Wins Stoyan Kambarev Foundation Award "Flight in Art"

Viktor Teodosiev received the "Flight in Art" award of the Stoyan Kambarev Foundation, while young director Kristiyan Georgiev won the "Cinema 355" prize for his film Second Verse at a ceremony held at Joy Station in Sofia on Monday.

The "Flight in Art" award, determined by a jury chaired by actress and producer Desi Tenekedzhieva, was presented to Teodosiev by Yosif Kambarev. The prize includes a specially crafted bronze statuette by artist Kolyo Karamfilov and EUR 5,000.

Teodosiev said the recognition shows that his work "has had meaning", noting that artists often go unrecognised and rely on mutual support. Other nominees included Liliyana Aleksandrova (Visual Arts), Stanislav Koychev – Stan (Cultural Influencer), Anastasia Stoeva (Multitalent) and Bogdan Grigorov – Gringo (Acting).

The "Cinema 355" award went to Georgiev, selected by audience vote after finalists presented five-minute films created within five days. He received a bronze statuette and EUR 7,777 to fund his next project, which will be produced by Tenekedzhieva and her company Nova Film. Other nominees were Vasil Hristov (The Big City) and Lina Pavlova (Pig Fighters).

Addressing participants, Tenekedzhieva encouraged young creators to "tell their stories" and strive to be bold and original.

Among attendees were former president Rosen Plevneliev, diplomats and representatives of Bulgaria's cultural and business communities.

During the ceremony, organizers also announced the upcoming musical spectacle Love, scheduled for September 25 at the National Palace of Culture, featuring Krisiya Todorova and conductor Yordan Kamdzhalov with the Genesis Orchestra.
