The State Institute for Culture under the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs took part in the summer General Assembly of the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC), held on June 18–19 in Amsterdam. Representing Bulgaria were Director Snezhana Joveva-Dimitrova and Senior Specialist Nia Tabakova, said the Institute for Culture.
Hosted at the H’ART Museum by EUNIC and DutchCulture, the assembly gathered cultural leaders from across Europe to discuss strategic priorities, including sustainability, climate policy, partnerships with Ukrainian institutions, and closer cooperation in the context of upcoming EU presidencies.
The event marked the handover of EUNIC's presidency from Liviu Jicman (Romania) to Kirsten van den Hul (Netherlands). A key highlight was the panel discussion on “Sustainability and Diversification of Cultural Partnerships in a Changing Environment,” featuring voices from European cultural institutions and local experts.
A new EUNIC Management Board was elected, with Gitte Zschoch (Director of ifa, Germany) appointed Vice-President. Bulgaria’s Ms. Joveva-Dimitrova emphasized the importance of international cultural cooperation and reaffirmed Bulgaria's commitment to EUNIC’s strategic goals.
