The Veselyatsite folk fitness group from Madrid will participate together with the Severnyatsi folk dance formation from Segovia, Spain, at the traveling gathering "Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance", the eleventh edition of which will be held from May 15 to 17 at BMW Park in Munich, Germany.

Veselyatsite group leader Mariyana Topalska explained that the performance they chose to present recreates the story of an elderly couple who, in anticipation of a wedding event, return to the memories of their own youth and love. "Imagine an elderly couple who are about to marry their daughter, and while they are waiting for the arrival of the matchmakers, they are immersed in memories of their own youth and how they fell in love and got married," Topalska noted.

"The message we want to send to the audience is that everything in this life is transient and the only thing that is eternal is love. Because if you don't have love, warmth and the person next to you with whom you can share your old times, everything else is not worth a penny," she stressed.

The Severnyatsi dance formation is led by Galya Marinova and was created in 2015. Topalska noted that the joint participation with the Veselyatsite group is an opportunity to unite the efforts of the two ensembles and to present Bulgarian culture to an international audience. According to her, the choreography is the result of the joint work of the dancers from both groups and the former leader of Severnyatsi Antoniy Angelov.

The travelling festival Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance is organized by and for amateur folklore ensembles performing outside Bulgaria. The initiative was launched by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the first edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. More than 100 dance ensembles and over 4,000 guests are expected at the 11th edition in Munich in May. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is the official media partner of the event and will present all participants.
