Bulgarian Consul General in Valencia Nadia Krasteva paid a visit to the Autonomous Region of Murcia in Spain on February 23-24 on the occasion of Bulgaria Day, the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Valencia said.

On February 23, Krasteva conferred with Mariola Guevara Cava, delegate of the Spanish Government in Murcia. They discussed cooperation in different areas of mutual interest. Krasteva noted that more than 5,000 Bulgarians live and work in Murcia, represented by two Bulgarian associations that run Bulgarian Sunday schools.

Cava was ready to provide the necessary assistance for the Bulgarian schools in the region and was pleased with the fact that so many Bulgarians have chosen the Region of Murcia as their second home, the diplomatic mission said.

On February 24, the Bulgaria Day was marked with an event at the García Alix Municipal Center organized by the Consulate General with the assistance of local authorities.

The Consulate General noted that the event attracted a great deal of attention from the Bulgarian community in the region and the local people. It was covered by local print and electronic media outlets, including the daily newspaper, La Opinion de Murcia.
