The outgoing Cabinet adopted a decision appointing Petar Boyanov Petrov as Consul General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Bitola, Republic of North Macedonia, with a consular district covering a number of municipalities in the south-western part of the country.

Petrov is a career diplomat with many years of experience and in-depth expertise in the Western Balkans, having consecutively held various positions at the Foreign Ministry and in Bulgarian diplomatic missions in Sarajevo, Pristina and Skopje.

The Consulate General in Bitola provides consular services to Bulgarian citizens, maintains contacts with local authorities, and works to develop bilateral relations, support the Bulgarian community, and preserve Bulgarian cultural and historical heritage.
