A joint exhibition by Bulgarian and Polish artists opens on January 17 in Poland, the Bulgarian Cultural Institute (BCI) in Warsaw and artist Ivayla Jivkova-Roszak announced. It will be on at Galeria Sztuki Wspolczesnej, a branch of the Muzeum Polnocno-Mazowieckie, according to a BCI post on Facebook page. The initiative aims to promote integration between artists from the two countries and to create a space for mutual inspiration and artistic exchange.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until February 19, 2026. On display will be works by Bulgarian and Polish artists, including Roussana Alex-Nowakowska, Joanna Lohn-Zając, Mladen Karavelov, Katarzyna Orthwein, Ivayla Jivkova-Roszak, Ceno Todorov, Elina Toneva, Teresa Adamowska, Anna Buretur, Zbigniew Ciborowski, Andrzej Cwalina, Waldemar Dobrzycki, Artur Filipkowski, Anna Natalia Gawrysiak, Wieslawa Golebiewska, Grzegorz Gwizdon, Larysa Jaromska, Maciej Kendzielawski, Stanislaw Kendzielawski, Justyna Kriszpin-Zmuda, Marek Maliszewski, Mieczyslaw Mazur, Janek Mazewski, Jan Niksinski, Iwona Rafalowska, Ewa Sklodowska, Robert Sokolowski, Iwo Swiatkowski, Beata Szczecinska, Katarzyna Szczepanska-Chylo, and Henrik Ursin.

The Bulgarian Cultural Institute said it consistently maintains an annual cultural programme titled “Bulgarians, Wherever We Are,” which showcases the creative potential of the Bulgarian diaspora in Poland. Concerts, meetings with writers, and exhibitions by Bulgarian professionals and amateur artists are presented as a gesture of recognition and contribute to strengthening community ties.

The exhibition is part of the 'Bulgarian-Polish Creative Encounters" project, launched last year at the BCI gallery in Warsaw and expanded this year to include Polish artists. According to the Institute, the initiative reflects its broader policy of supporting cultural exchange. The Bulgarian Cultural Institute and the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria emphasized the role of Bulgarian artists in Poland as a natural bridge between the spiritual and cultural traditions of the two countries, noting that their work helps bring Bulgarian culture to audiences across both major cities and smaller towns in Poland.
