Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said that the Cabinet will propose a name for Bulgarian ambassador to the US soon, as it will be consulted with the President. He attended the closing ceremony of the first ever European Firesport Championship in Dolna Banya, Southwest Bulgaria, on Friday.

Regarding the proposals for ambassador appointments made by the Council of Ministers, the Prime Minister said: "They have been sent to the President and we have already received approval for the positions we have decided on. We are now awaiting the agreements of the host countries. After that, we will await the President's decrees."

Zhelyazkov also commented on the appointment of Miroslav Rashkov as Secretary General of the Ministry of the Interior by presidential decree, at the Government's proposal. "I hope that this will bring some calm to the system. In such strictly hierarchical systems, unity of command is an important principle. The systems should now rely on their head and carry out his professional instructions," he added.
