Bulgarian head of State Rumen Radev congratulates US President Donald Trump and the American people on the country's Independence Day, July 4, the Bulgarian President's press secretariat said Friday. He wishes them health and success.

"I believe that the allied relations between Bulgaria and the United States will continue to develop for the benefit of our peoples and on the basis of our common interests and high responsibilities for the promotion of global peace and security," Radev says in his address. 

The Bulgarian President expresses his satisfaction with the upward development of the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and the United States and shares his conviction for the continuation of the fruitful interaction between the two countries in all key areas of cooperation, in the interest of the Bulgarian and American people. The head of State highlightes as priorities the promotion of bilateral trade and investment, the development of cooperation in the security and defence, energy, high-tech and artificial intelligence sectors, and contacts between the citizens of the two countries.

Radev also notes the importance of achieving results on key issues on the shared agenda, such as Bulgaria's inclusion in the US Visa Waiver Program, which would bring a new strong impetus to the Bulgaria-US strategic dialogue for the benefit of both countries.
