The annual North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) summit began on Tuesday in The Hague, the Netherlands.

During the summit, NATO leaders are expected to discuss key topics such as defence spending, strengthening the Alliance’s deterrence and defence capabilities, and continued support for Ukraine.

The forum will feature a formal meeting of NATO heads of State and government, as well as working dinners at the level of foreign and defence ministers.

Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov will lead Bulgaria’s delegation, which also include Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev, Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov, Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Eftimov, and other representatives from the Foreign and Defence Ministries.

NATO countries have agreed to their joint declaration, which will be finalized at the summit, Reuters reported on Sunday. The joint opinion officially sets the aim for annual defence and security costs at 5% of GDP by 2035.
