The port and civilian infrastructure of the Odesa region was once again subjected to a massive overnight attack by Russian drones, Odesa Regional Military Administration head Oleh Kiper said on his Telegram channel.
“Damage has been inflicted on port infrastructure. A warehouse on the port’s premises was hit as well,” Kiper said.
According to the regional governor, residential buildings in the suburbs of Odesa were also affected, with falling debris from downed drones damaging roofs and shattering windows in two private homes.
“Fortunately, there are no casualties. All emergency services are working on the ground to deal with the aftermath of the attack,” Kiper added.
Late on Sunday, local Telegram channels reported that Odesa and the surrounding region were attacked by drones. About 25 drones were launched from the Black Sea area toward Odesa, Chornomorsk and Zatoka, the local channels added. An air raid alert was issued at 23:04. Regional authorities urged residents to hide in bomb shelters.
Bulgarians in Odesa Oblast number over 150,000 and constitute the third-largest community according to the latest official census in Ukraine. In the city of Odesa itself, around 50–60,000 Bulgarians live. The largest concentrated Bulgarian populations are in the Bolhrad, Izmail, and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
