Six people were injured in a Russian drone attack on the Ukrainian city of Odesa overnight, Oleh Kiper, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, said on Telegram. Damage was inflicted on energy and civilian infrastructure, he added.
"Six people were injured. Two of them were rescued from collapsed apartments. Another 33 people, including six children, received psychological assistance after the massive overnight drone attack," Kiper wrote.
Air defence units managed to destroy most of the aerial targets, but damage to civilian and energy infrastructure was reported, the Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration said.
In his words, debris and blast waves damaged doors and windows in seven residential buildings, an administrative building, and cars.
"Part of Odesa’s Peresypskyi district was left without electricity. Emergency stations are operating for residents," Serhii Lysak, Head of the Odesa City Military Administration, said on Telegram.
A city emergency operations centre is operating, and municipal services are working to eliminate the consequences of the attack, Lysak added.
Odesa Region is home to the third largest community of expatriate Bulgarians, numbering more than 150,000 people, according to an official population census in Ukraine in 2001. Between 50,000 and 60,000 Bulgarians live in the regional capital, Odesa. Bulgarians in the region are concentrated in the districts of Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
