Bulgaria's top tennis player Grigor Dimitrov will face France’s Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the first round of the indoor hard-court tennis tournament from the ATP Masters series in Paris, which has a prize fund of EUR 6,128,940.

Grigor will return to the court after three and a half months of recovery from a chest muscle injury. He has not played since early July, when he sustained the injury in the fourth round of Wimbledon.

Because of his absence, the 34-year-old Bulgarian has dropped to 37th place in the world rankings.

This will be the first meeting between Dimitrov and the 22-year-old Perricard, who is currently ranked 33rd in the ATP standings. If Dimitrov wins their debut encounter, he will face the winner of the match between No. 11 Daniil Medvedev (Russia) and Jaume Munar (Spain) in the second round.

Dimitrov was the runner-up at the Paris Masters tournament in 2023.
