Bulgarian dancesport competitors won ten medals at the World Games, organized by the international confederation CSIT in Loutraki (Greece). Among over 2000 participants from 45 countries, the Bulgarian representatives won two gold, six silver and two bronze medals.
Stefan Donchev and Lilyana Baylova won gold medals in Latin American dances in the Over 45 Latin category. Vladimir Velichkov and Gabriela Ragina won silver medals in the Under 21 Standard category.
Bronze medals went to Kaloyan Spasov and Victoria Alexandrova in the Youth Standard 16-18 category.
Angel Svirkov and Asiya Bozova won silver medals in both the under 16 Latin category and the under 16 Standard category.
"Bulgaria is strengthening its positions in world dance sports. The titles, finals and semi-finals won in extremely competitive categories are the result of dedication, hard work and professionalism. These successes not only inspire the younger generations of competitors, but also strengthen Bulgaria as an important factor on the international stage. The Bulgarian DanceSport Clubs Federation thanks the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the support it provides, as well as all others who support the competitors and sports clubs," Georgi Naydenov, Chair of the Bulgarian DanceSport Clubs Federation, told BTA.
