Bulgarian Para Athlete Stela Eneva Wins Discus Throw Silver at Dubai Grand Prix, Secures Berth for 2024 Summer Paralympics

After a nine-year absence from the stadiums, Bulgarian para athlete Stella Eneva made a triumphant return at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Dubai where won won a silver medal in the F56/57 class (for people with lower limb disability) with 29.29 m in the discus throw. Nassima Saifi of Algeria was first with 33.59 m.

With this result, Eneva qualified the World Para Championships in Kobe, Japan in May this year and Paris 2024 Summer Paralympics.

Eneva has been working with a new coach this year: discus throw veteran Tony Velkov. She is the first para athlete to secure a berth for the Paris 2024 Games.

Stella Eneva is a three-time Paralympic vice-champion (discus throw from Beijing 2008; discus throw and shot put from London 2012), three times world and five times European champion.
