The ski season in the major winter resorts in Bulgaria will open on December 15 and 16. Pamporovo and Borovets officially open ski slopes on December 15, Bansko opens on December 16. Vitosha, near Sofia, has not yet announced an official season opening.

The official opening of the ski season in Pamporovo is planned for December 15, Pamporovo Skiing announced on its website. On the opening day, lift passes will be at a discounted price.

The official opening of the ski season in Pamporovo is planned for Friday, December 15, Pamporovo Skiing announced on its website. On the opening day, lift passes will be at a discounted price. Pamporovo Ski says that there is already snow cover on Mount Snezhanka and Studenets. A new six-seat lift is to be put into use, along with the renovated south ski area. The construction of a children's ski park at the Malina ski centre is expected. Pamporovo has also invested in the delivery of 12 additional artificial snow guns on the slope to Smolyansky Lakes, the company announced in October.

The winter season in Borovets resort will also start on December 15. Borosport marketing manager Maria Sheynova told BTA recently that the artificial snow system at the resort is expanded every year with a large number of new stationary and mobile show guns. The resort is ready for the season, with the main priority in the preparation being the slopes, she said.

The new winter tourist season in Bansko will start on Saturday, December 16, the Bansko Municipality said. The opening will be accompanied by a festive programme, which will begin at 9:30 am on the Banderishka meadow with games and a concert, and ski athletes from Bansko will ski down the Tomba slope. The second part of the programme will be on the central town square at 5:30 pm with a culinary presentation and tasting of traditional dishes. The official opening of the Ski Season 2023-2024 will be at 6:00 pm. The artificial snow system at Yulen has also been modernized, according to the website.

There is still no exact date for the opening of the ski season on Vitosha mountain, Vitosha Ski told BTA. The season will open as soon as conditions allow. "Unfortunately, due to legal restrictions, the capital ski area does not have a modern installation for the production of artificial snow, there is no lake to supply the system with the necessary amount and flow of water, which further hinders and delays the early start of the season. There is a favourable forecast for new snowfalls and cold weather at the end of the week, which we hope will allow at least a phased launch of the ski area," Vitosha Ski added, pointing out that for up-to-date information, residents of Sofia can follow www.vitoshaski.com and social media accounts.
