The all-Bulgarian semifinal between Radoslav Yankov and Tervel Zamfirov in the parallel giant slalom at the Snowboard World Cup in Bansko ended with a victory for Zamfirov.
The race was decided only in the final meters where the former World Cup overall winner fell.
In the final, the 2025 world champion will face Austria’s Fabian Obmann, who defeated Germany’s Janik Angenend in the other semifinal.
The two stars of Bulgarian snowboarding reached the top four and faced each other after a series of impressive victories in the round of 16 and the quarterfinals.
By qualifying for the final, Zamfirov secured the third-ever podium finish for a Bulgarian competitor in Bansko. The previous two were achieved by Radoslav Yankov in 2017, when he recorded a victory and a second-place finish.
