Bulgarian Olympic Committee President Vesela Lecheva took part in consultations with Kirsty Coventry, President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and the presidents of national Olympic committees from around the world on Friday night, Lecheva's press service reported. Coventry informed the heads of Olympic committees about the results of the meetings in Lausanne with members of the IOC committees on the Fit for the Future consultation process.
Lecheva praised Coventry for her initiative to listen to different voices in the Olympic movement at the beginning of her term. The head of the BOC pointed out: "Each of us has experience—both as Olympic athletes and as leaders—that we can share."
In early September, the IOC established four new working groups as part of the Fit for the Future initiative, which will focus on the development of the Youth Olympic Games, the Olympic programme, the protection of women's disciplines, as well as commercial partnerships and marketing. These groups, formed under Coventry's leadership, also include representatives from international federations who will address key challenges and future strategy.
