A 38% increase in passengers at the seaside airports in Varna and Burgas in November compared to the same month in 2024 was reported by the German operator of the two facilities, Fraport, on Thursday.

At Fraport’s largest airport, Frankfurt in Germany, passenger traffic rose 4% year-on-year to around 4.8 million passengers in November. Cargo traffic at Frankfurt, including airmail, increased by 4.7% year-on-year to 186,692 tonnes, the operator said.

Total traffic at the 14 Greek airports operated by Fraport increased by 8.8% to 953,054 passengers, the company pointed out, adding that Antalya Airport in Turkiye also saw traffic grow by 3.7% to around 1.8 million passengers in November.
