site.btaEconomy Minister Urges Bulgarian Development Bank to Support Large Companies as Well as SMEs

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are the primary focus of the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB), but it should also be able to support large companies, Economy and Industry Minister Peter Dilov told the parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy and Innovation on Wednesday. He was answering a question from the Velichie parliamentary group regarding BDB financing for state-owned enterprises.
The Minister noted that state-owned enterprises pay dividends into the state budget, which hinders their investment programmes to some extent.
Dilov answered MPs' questions alongside Deputy Economy and Industry Minister Nevena Lazarova.
The Ministry of Innovation and Growth is the principal shareholder of BDB.
