site.btaJob Listings in Bulgaria Continue to Decline, According to Career Website Analysis
Job advertisements in Bulgaria continue to decrease, according to the monthly analysis by HR company and career website JobTiger, a press release sent to BTA on Monday said. A 12% drop in listings was recorded in July, which is over 5,000 fewer job postings compared to June.
On a year-on-year basis, the decline stands at 7%, or 3,000 fewer listings. This marks the sixth consecutive month of annual decline in job offers, the company report reads.
A decrease in job postings is observed across all sectors. The reasons are varied, including summer holidays, economic stagnation, the adoption and integration of artificial intelligence technologies, an increase in the import of labour from third countries, low unemployment, among others, the analysis explains.
The sectors with the sharpest month-on-month drops in job ads are hospitality and restaurants, down by 2,000 postings (27% decline); trade and sales, down by 1,130 postings (10% decline); manufacturing, down by 930 postings (12% decline). Declines are also reported in the following sectors: logistics and transport, 11% decline; administrative and support services, 8% decline; healthcare and pharmaceuticals, 6% decline; marketing and advertising, 10% decline; accounting, auditing, and finance, 5% decline; IT, 3% decline; construction, 2% decline.
Annually, all sectors have also seen fewer job postings, with the sole exception of construction, which posted a 5% increase, according to the company.
By city, the largest drop in job ads was registered in Ruse, 18% decrease; Burgas, 16% decrease; Plovdiv, 14% decrease. The slightest decrease was in Sofia, where job ads fell by 9%.
