The Federation of Trade Unions-Health Services with the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria has called for a meeting of the Tripartite Sectoral Cooperation Council with the Health Ministry for negotiations on the conclusion of a collective bargaining agreement in the health sector.

The request is addressed to Deputy Healthcare Minister Boyko Penkov, who also chairs the council.

The trade unions want to discuss the Ministry's analysis of hospital care facilities, as well as the proposal of employers' organizations for a collective bargaining agreement in healthcare.

The Federation says that they have been pushing for more than a year for resumption of negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement in the sector.

On Monday, medical professionals and medical students in several cities across the country are coming out in protest. The initiative is organized on social networks.
