The effect of advertising the Southern Black Sea Coast as an integrated destination has worked, said Tsarevo Mayor Marin Kirov in a BTA interview on Tuesday.

"The general advertising of the Southern Black Sea Coast destination is what unites us and can improve tourism and extend the season", Kirov pointed out, adding that Tsarevo is not just a municipal centre, but also has 21 beaches. "However, our tourists also visit the sights of Primorsko and Sozopol. Respectively, we also observe the reverse process with their guests visiting our beaches", he noted, pointing out that one of the beaches in Tsarevo has also received a Blue Flag Award.

"We have participated in five tourist exchanges outside Bulgaria, namely in Bucharest, Budapest, Istanbul, Thessaloniki and London," Kirov added, emphasizing that immediately after them, inquiries began not only for places to stay, but also for purchase of properties. He noted that based on inquiries and participation in international tourist exchanges hoteliers and the municipality are expecting an optimal tourist season and stated that hoteliers who expect guests from abroad will open their doors after May 24. "The concessionaires are fully prepared to open in early June and comply with all the rules," Kirov added, pointing out that traditionally the active summer season on the Southern Black Sea Coast begins with the first days of school vacations.

He emphasized that only two of the beaches on the territory of Tsarevo Municipality will remain unguarded during the upcoming summer season and that the municipal administration will maintain close communication with Burgas Regional Governor Vladimir Krumov to ensure the safety on those beaches as well.
