More than 50,000 people have visited the Bulgarian Pavilion at World EXPO 2025 in Osaka, just over a month since its official opening on April 13. The statistics were shared with BTA by the Executive Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises. The pavilion operates at full capacity, welcoming an average of 1,500 visitors each day.

On the eve of Bulgaria Day at EXPO 2025, which will be marked on May 18, lines of visitors have once again formed in front of the pavilion. The final rehearsal for Sunday's cultural and musical programme turned into a true attraction for Japanese visitors and international guests, featuring live performances by Bulgarian musicians.

President Rumen Radev, who is on an official visit to Japan, will also attend the National Day ceremony.

According to the Bulgarian Embassy in Tokyo, the official programme will begin at 11:00 a.m. local time in the Expo National Day Hall. A rich cultural programme will follow, featuring dancers from the "Trakia" Folklore Ensemble performing traditional dances, multimedia presentations of Church Slavonic chants, opera performances in Bulgarian and Japanese by Maria Slavova, and musical acts by Kalin Velyov, Viktor Nikolaev, the Vladigerov Brothers, and singer Nina Nikolina.

During the Bulgaria Day at EXPO 2025, the April issue of BTA's LIK magazine on the topic "Bulgaria and the World Expos" will be presented. The magazine has been published in Japanese and English. The edition will be presented via video link with the Bulgarian pavilion in Osaka. The event will be held simultaneously in the MaxiM hall of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) in Sofia and 40 of BTA's national press clubs in Bulgaria and abroad. The presentation will be led by BTA Director General Kiril Valchev and attended by Japanese university students studying Bulgarian.

EXPO 2025 features participation from 165 countries and regions, along with nine international organizations, each showcasing their cultures, ideas, and innovations across approximately 180 pavilions. The central theme of this edition is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” with interactive exhibitions, demonstrations of cutting-edge technologies like AI and robotics, and presentations of sustainable and innovative solutions in architecture, energy, and healthcare, including smart city showcases. The forum opened in April and will continue through October, with an estimated attendance of nearly 30 million people.
