Outgoing Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Gvozdeikov Thursday signed the decision on the selection of a contractor for the delivery of seven double-decker trains, which will be purchased for Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) with resources under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The assessment shows that the offer of Poland's Stadler Polska Sp. z o.o. company meets all the requirements set in the public procurement procedure, which was launched in mid-February.

The price offered for the seven electric trains is BGN 300,513,279.50, and the delivery deadline is in 26 months. A contract is now to be signed with the selected contractor.

At the same time, negotiations begin on Friday with Spain's Patentes Talgo SL company for the delivery of 20 push-pull trains. The public procurement procedure for the delivery of 35 electric trains will resume; interested companies have until April 11 to submit their offers.
