Agriculture and Food Minister Kiril Vatev Wednesday said the number of local and foreign hunters involved in organized hunting tourism in Bulgaria increased by 5% in 2023 and generated revenues of nearly BGN 8.5 million. He opened the 28th Nature, Hunting, Fishing and Flower Spring exhibitions, which will be on until April 7 at the International Fair Plovdiv.

Vatev cited an analysis showing that in 2023 all hunting farms formed steady game populations. Bulgaria still is a leader in the trophy qualities of game, which promotes tourism and contributes to economic growth.

The exhibition is an important and attractive forum showcasing the latest innovative solutions for the protection and the wise and responsible use of the national natural resources, the outgoing Agriculture Minister said.

The Nature, Hunting, Fishing exhibition is an opportunity for specialists in forestry, hunting and fisheries from the state, public and private sectors to discuss important topics, exchange views and ideas and share best practices, Vatev said.
