Bulgaria expects reliable fuel supplies and predictable prices, President Rumen Radev said during a meeting here on Wednesday with the leadership of Lukoil, after the latter's meetings with the Prime Minister and Government representatives, Radev's Press Secretariat reported.
President Radev recalled the good cooperation and open dialogue between the caretaker government and Lukoil, as a result of which fuel prices were reduced in the long-run and were among the lowest in the EU, while the company moved its headquarters from Switzerland to Bulgaria and started paying its taxes in this country.
The discussion also focused on Lukoil's ability to provide alternative oil supplies, to ensure the uninterrupted production process and guarantee its employees' jobs in the new situation, following the termination of the Rosenets port concession, as well as the actions taken by the government in regarding the termination of the derogation for Russian oil.
