site.btaTurkish Aircraft Engine Manufacturer Interested in Investing in Bulgaria, Innovation Ministry Says
Outgoing Minister of Innovation and Growth Tomislav Donchev Thursday held a meeting with representatives of TUSAS Engine Industries Inc. (TEI), a Turkish company specializing in the manufacture of aviation engines and components, which is researching options for widening its activity in Europe, he Ministry said in a press release on Thursday.
During the bilateral meeting, Donchev acquainted the TEI management with the opportunities for investing in Bulgaria, the State's investment promotion measures, the shortened administrative deadlines and the potential of industrial zones in Bulgaria. An emphasis was also placed on the available laboratory and research infrastructure, which is accessible both for scientific circles and businesses.
"Bulgaria can offer a strategic location, competitive conditions for doing business, and support for projects with high added value, such as the aviation sector. It is a priority for us to attract companies that develop high-tech manufacturing and engineering activities," Donchev emphasized.
Among the topics discussed were the opportunities for training highly qualified personnel at the country's technical universities, as well as Bulgaria's traditions in mechanical engineering and electronics.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth Krassimir Yakimov and Turkish Ambassador to Bulgaria Mehmet Sait Uyanik.
