As of 30 November 2025, the banking system’s profit was BGN 3.4 billion, by BGN 117 million (3.6%) more than the one for the same period of last year, the Bulgarian National Bank said on Tuesday.

At the end of November 2025, the assets of the banking system totalled BGN 213.8 billion, by BGN 5.6 billion (2.7%) more compared to the end of October. As of 30 November, the liquidity coverage ratio was 251.0% (234.4% at end-October).

Gross loans and advances at the end of November were BGN 136.7 billion, increasing by BGN 1.9 billion (1.4%) compared to the end of October. Claims on credit institutions decreased by BGN 318 million (2.9%), to BGN 10.8 billion, while the gross loan portfolio grew over the month by BGN 2.1 billion (1.7%) to BGN 125.6 billion. Growth was reported mainly in loans to non-financial corporations – by BGN 1.2 billion (2.1%) and to households – by BGN 842 million, or 1.5% (including by BGN 674 million for loans collateralised by residential immovable property). Loans to other financial corporations and to the general governments sector also increased – by BGN 100 million (1.0%) and by BGN 35 million (3.0%), respectively.

At the end of November 2025, the deposits in the banking system amounted to BGN 177.2 billion and increased by BGN 1.2 billion (0.7%) on a monthly basis. Increase was reported mainly for the deposits of households – by BGN 3.0 billion (2.9%). The deposits of credit institutions also grew – by BGN 227 million (1.7%). During the period, the deposits of non-financial corporations decreased by BGN 1.7 billion (3.3%), those of the general governments sector by BGN 235 million (6.0%), and of other financial corporations by BGN 53 million (1.1%).

The impairment costs on financial assets not measured at fair value through profit or loss amounted to BGN 643 million as of 30 November 2025, by BGN 65 million (11.3%) more than those reported as of 30 November 2024.
